Sir Knight Deacon John Doane came to the colonies with the initial 5 ships of the Winthrop Fleet which sailed to Plymouth and the Massachusetts Bay Colony in the spring of 1629. He was in business with John Atwood of London who represented James Sherley. He moved to Eastham on Cape Cod around 1645.
