Generation No. 1
1. DANIEL6 DAINE (LEMUEL5 DAIN, ZACHARIAH4 DEANES, OXENBRIDGE3 DEENS, EPHRAIM2 DAYNES, ABRAHAM1) was born Abt. 1798 in Connecticut (Source: 1850 census for Centerville, Allegany, New York, Family 233, Page 298.), and died April 18, 1869 in Probably Centerville, Allegany, New York (Source: From his gravestone found on a personal visit to his grave at Elmwood Cemetery in Pike, Wyoming, New York.). He married MARY ELLEN HAMER Abt. 1822 in New York (Source: Marriage date is based on the birth of first known child and birthplace..), daughter of JOSIAH HAMER and CHARITY ALLEN. She was born May 8, 1803 in Livingston/Allegany, New York (Source: (1) 1855 and 1865 censuses for Centerville, Allegany, New York., (2) Minnesota Cemetery Inscriptions Index/Minnesota Burials by John Dalby on Ancestry.com.), and died January 4, 1880 in Minnesota (Source: Minnesota Cemetery Inscriptions Index/Minnesota Burials by John Dalby on Ancestry.com.).

Marriage Notes for DANIEL DAINE and MARY HAMER:
Several letters found at the Allegany County and Wyoming County Historians' offices from Andreas Brown, a descendant of Mary's, indicate that she was the Mary Hamer that married Daniel Dain, and that she was the daughter of Josiah Hamer and Charity Allen. A Charity Hamer living with Dan and Mary is listed as mother on the 1865 census for Centerville, Allegany, New York.
Children of DANIEL DAINE and MARY HAMER are:
2. i. BETSEY ANN7 DAINE, b. October 1, 1822, New York; d. October 26, 1905, Janesville, Rock, Wisconsin.
ii. SARAH ANN DAINE, b. Abt. 1827 (Source: 1870 census for Centerville, Allegany County, New York, Family 224, Page 546..).
Notes for SARAH ANN DAINE:
Sarah is assumed to be a daughter of Dan and Mary because she is listed in a deed found on LDS film 484,101, page 416, as one of the defendants along with other known children of theirs. On this deed she is listed as Sarah Ann Dayton. Sarah is listed with Mary on the 1870 Centerville census as Sarah A. Dain. She is not listed on other census records with Dan and Mary, but she would have been old enough to have been married before 1850.

Nancy is assumed to be a daughter of Dan and Mary Daine because she is listed on the 1850 census for Centerville with them. She is not listed on subsequent census records with them, nor is she listed on the deed that lists other known children of theirs. However, there is a James Blodgett listed on this deed, who may be the husband of a deceased Nancy.

i. JUDSON LEGRAND8 ROBINSON (Source: Commemorative Biographical Record of the Counties of rock, Green, Grant, Iowa & Lafayette, Wisconsin, by J. H. Beers & Company, Newberry E4902.183 gives his middle name.), b. May 17, 1844, Pike, Wyoming, New York (Source: Commemorative Biographical Record of the Counties of Rock, Green, Grant, Iowa & Lafayette, Wisconsin, by J. H. Notes for JUDSON LEGRAND ROBINSON:
From "Commemorative Biographical Record of the Counties of Rock, Green, Grant, Iowa & Lafayette, Wisconsin," by J. H. Beers & Company, Newberry E4902.183: Judson LeGrand Robinson, one of the prosperous and representative farmers of Rock county, owns a well-cultivated farm in Section 10, Janesville township, which he has acquired as the fruit of his arduous labors. Judson LeGrand Robinson was born in Pike, Wyoming Co., N.Y., May 17, 1844, a son of Hubbard and Betsy Ann (Daine) Robinson, natives of New York State. The father of Hubbard Robinson, Aaron Robinson, was a native of Massachusetts, of English descent, was a shoemaker, farmer and tanner and in time amassed a large fortune. Nine children were born to him and his good wife, and he was over seventy at the time of his death. During his lifetime Aaron Robinson was in the State militia, and in every way proved himself a worthy man and good citizen. The maternal grandfather of our subject, Daniel Daine, a native of New York State, of English descent, followed the occupation of farming. He had a family of nine children, and was about seventy-five years old when he passed away. The maternal grandmother, whose maiden name was Hammer, lived to be 108 years old, and was a very worthy and highly esteemed lady. Hubbard Robinson, the father of our subject, was a shoemaker by trade, at which he worked until a few years prior to his death. While in New York State he was a member of the school board in the village where he lived, and also served in the State militia. In 1852 Hubbard Robinson came West, locating in Rock county, Wis., in 1856, and buying a home of eleven acres in Janesville, on the west side of Rock river, in Section 10, where he resided until his death in 1889, at the age of seventy-one. Mrs. Robinson still survives, a very estimable old lady, and a consistent member of the M. E. Church. Three sons were born to this good couple, two of whom are now living: Judson L. and Cornelius Wayne, of Janesville township. Judson LeGrand Robinson lived in New York State until twelve years old, when he came to Rock county with his parents, and has since resided in this locality. Until the Civil war broke out Mr. Robinson followed farming and shoemaking, attending the district schools when opportunity offered; but as soon as old enough he enlisted, in 1864, in Company A, 43rd Wis. V.I., and served until the close of the war, participating in the battle of Johnsonville and a number of skirmishes. After the close of the war Mr. Robinson followed his trade about two years, then engaged in farming, and now owns the fine farm of 190 acres where he resides. On April 21, 1880, Judson LeGrand Robinson married Miss Hattie Knoff, daughter of William and Catherine M. Knoff, and nine children have been born to them, four sons and five daughters: Roy LeGrand, Arthur Wayne, Benjamin Harrison, Judson, Eva Dett, Maude, June, Flora and Luella. Politically Mr. Robinson is a Republican in sentiment, and he has been called upon to serve his fellow citizens in several offices, having acted as justice of the peace one term, and constable several times. Socially Mr. Robinson is an honored member of W. H. Sargent Post, G.A.R. Both he and his wife are good representatives of the agricultural population of Rock county.

Notes for AMON H. FAIRBANK:
It is not known where Amon died. Probably in New York. Amon last appears in the Janesville, Wisconsin city directory for 1892-1893. The book, "The Fairbanks Family in America" by Lorenzo S. Fairbanks published in 1897 states, "lives in South Stockton, New York, with his brother, Stillman Duane." He is not on the 1892 or 1900 census with Stillman.
Found at the Rock County courthouse in Janesville, a paper dated June 23, 1888, indicating the sale of Amon's land due to foreclosure.
His son, Henry Joshua's, military pension records indicate that he asked for leave from August 24 - 27, 1898. This may be when Amon died.
"The Fairbanks Family in America" by Lorenzo S. Fairbanks implies that Amon was born in Barnard; however, in 1824, Joshua is listed as being of Pittsfield, Rutland, Vermont, on land records.

Dain. Beers & Company, Newberry E4902.183 gives his middle name.), b.
